“The role of the Government is to create conditions in which jobs are created, in which people can find work.”
President George Bush

Duncan Area Economic Development Foundation has implemented this Airport Industrial Park Development Plan to promote the city of Duncan and attract potential companies who want to relocate their businesses. The development plan provides for schematic design for the terminal building, commercial building, and the industrial/manufacturing buildings. The development plan provides solutions for the short and long term needs. The development plan is a tool that the Foundation uses to give prospective business a glimpse of what the future holds for the industrial park.

The building configurations are schematic to provide a vision of how the airport industrial park development could appear in the future. The building square footages and configurations would be modified and designed specifically for you the client, who would be locating in the airport industrial park development.

Approximately 340 acres are available for development in the area of the Duncan Airport for the industrial park. The 340 acres are spread over seven areas. Immediately adjacent to the terminal, approximately 29 acres are available for development. Facilities which require airport runway access should consider this area. Contact the Foundation about the availability of other areas.

Facilities that require railroad access can be provided on the east side of the railroad and the north end of the site. A railroad spur shall be provided for easy railway loading and unloading.

All necessary utilities (water, gas, electric, and sanitary sewer) are located within close proximity to possible buildable areas.

The new proposed Duncan Airport Terminal Building is the centerpiece of the development and represents Duncan’s dedication to its future. The structure seeks to epitomize this through form and materials. The long sweeping metal wings of the aviation industry rise up as if to catch the wind and fly while the rugged stone spine stands as solid as the hardworking people of Duncan. It is through this building that visitors and people of Duncan will experience the transition from earth to sky and back again.

The commercial, manufacturing and industrial building designs, while conceptual, illustrate the desire to create a cohesive campus while allowing the individuality of each business and industry to show through.

The manufacturing and industrial buildings were designed to use similar materials as the terminal building, however, the massing and configuration give the manufacturing and industrial buildings their own identity while complementing the campus design.
